A new year calls for a new pattern!
Above average temperatures for several weeks and then suddenly it was cold and windy. I guess it is an indication to stay indoors and sew :-D
Should you need a new pattern, Fireworks is now available in my Etsy Shop as a standalone pattern. You can get it at a discount of 25% for one week.
Fireworks |
Fireworks is a simple pattern that requires no special rulers/templates and is NOT paper-pieced, making it suitable for all skill levels.

It is a busy time in the Sew Preeti Quilts studio but cannot show anything much yet. So here is a catch up post. Hope you are handling the heat well so far. It is only going to get worse :-(
All Island Batik ambassadors were invited to become affiliates for the Missouri Star Quilt Company, and I was accepted :-)
This means that if you order over $50 from Missouri Star, you will get 20% off your order and I will receive a small commission. Thank you for your support!

This is such a beautiful collection with a wide range of values from light yellow, through medium red and orange all the way to deep purple. I love these warm colors. Look for Buds and Blooms Layer Cake in your local quilt store.

Nilsa, 60" by 83" |
I used the Island Batik collection - Blushing Garden to make Nilsa.
Have you seen Blushing Garden? It is a beautiful collection with my favorite colors - red, pink and gold. Even a bit of teal to brighten things up. They are beautiful and sunny!
I first made Avantika for the Island Batik catalogue. The working title was Mosaic Stars but once the quilt was completed, it needed a better name. Avantika means princess :-)

It took a lot of effort to haul it out of the river.
Ooh it is heavy... |
The fish wriggled and pulled against the net and Paul struggled.
Paul struggled |
I heaved a huge sign of relief when he prevailed.

Such a proud angler Paul is!!! Now, you may think that catching all these fish on the banks of Potomac is a load of bull. But honestly, it is a fishy story :-D

1. Topsy Turvy is now available as a stand alone pattern in my Etsy Store.
Topsy Turvy in Honeycomb Fabrics |
I first made Topsy Turvy using the scraps left over from the Island Batik "Make it Modern" Blog Hop and Challenge. Many refinements later, making it suitable for 2.5" precut strips, writing and rewriting and then correcting the pattern, Topsy Turvy is now available as a standalone pattern.
Here are a few more pictures.
New listing in my Etsy shop...finally finished this little quilt. The pattern has been hanging around for years and I even saved the woodland print for several years for just this quilt. It is a very traditional design with its two common blocks, however it does come out really nicely once you quilt a bit of a design in the alternate block.
Love doing those...
Finished the write up and listing for the Scrappy Squares quilt in my Etsy shop.
